Message from the Director


Welcome to the Green River District Health Department website!  This site is intended to provide descriptions of the programs and services offered in each of the seven counties throughout the district, locations of our 7 county health centers, job opportunities, and more!
 
Programs/Services
The programs/services offered by the Green River District Health Department are designed to meet the health care needs of the district for an array of eligible participants.  Certain programs are mandated by law or regulation to protect the health of the public.  These fall under the categories of:   

  • Enforcement of Public Health Regulations (such as occurs in the Environmental Program)
  • Surveillance
  • Communicable Disease Control (such as the tuberculosis program)
  • Public Health Education
  • Public Health Policy
  • Family and Children Risk Reduction 
  • Disaster Preparedness. 

Local option services include other Population-Based Services which improve health outcomes for groups of people or communities such as the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program and other preventative services. Other services for individuals may also be provided such as the School Health Program, Home Health Program and Adult Day Care.  You will find most of our programs outlined on this website.

Locations
Each health center throughout the seven counties is a key component in providing public health services.  You can find their locations and contact information on this website.  “Satellite” clinics such as school health centers may be available in certain communities.  For information about possible satellite clinics, please call the county health center.

Job Opportunities
Job opportunities are varied and listed on the website as well.  Applications can be obtained online to allow added convenience.
