The Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment program is Medicaid’s comprehensive and preventive child health program for individuals under age 21. It not only provides but also manages a comprehensive child health program of prevention and treatment services. It seeks out Medicaid clients, informs them of their benefits, especially about the availability of preventive care, and links them to available health services in their community.
