The Green River District Board of Health met on June 23, 2009 and adopted a new fee structure for the on-site sewage program.  This action was taken under the authority of KRS 211.355 and was necessary to cover the rising cost of administering this program.

Effective August 1, 2009 the new fee schedule in our district will be as follows:

  • Site Evaluation......................................... $180
  • Installation/repair permit........................... $250
  • Existing System Inspection....................... $50
  • Multiple follow-up inspection fee.............. $80

The schedule includes two new fees.  The existing system inspection will be assessed when a property owner applies for inspection of an existing on-site system for the purpose of gaining approval for electrical connection or local approval from a planning and zoning agency.  The multiple follow-up fees will be assessed if three or more visits are required to gain final approval of a septic system installation.  The $250 permit fee covers the cost of an initial excavation inspection (if needed), the regular final inspection, and one follow-up inspection.  If more follow-up inspections are necessary because of deficiencies that require correction, the additional fee will be charged for each additional inspection.

If you should have questions regarding the new fee structure, you may contact your local county environmentalist.
