Social Worker Services
At the Green River District Health Department, social workers provide services to individuals/families who participate in General and Prenatal Clinics. Social workers can provide education and information on health department services and programs and refer to resources in the community.
Social workers may see families/individuals during clinic or at home visits.
A health department social worker can assume many roles during any given day. As the needs of the patient change, so do the functions of the social worker. Social workers will assist families/individuals in identifying situations that the families/individuals may want to address goal setting or making healthy choices for themeselves and their children.
Social workers duties can include, but are not limited to the following:
- Providing birth control and sterilization information.
- Provide linkage to area agencies for
- Medical Card
- Housing Transportation
- Job Training/Education
- Clothing
- Domestic Violence
- Depression/Suicide
- Grief/SIDS Education
- Parenting Programs
